History
The vision for Lifeshine came out of a deep desire for the best education possible for homeschooled children and the desire
for quality friendships. Proverbs 13:20 says, "He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers
harm."
Most homeschooling families eventually recognize the need for assistance in the endeavor to teach
their children and the need for quality friendships.
One of the challenges we all face is how to teach subjects which
are more difficult, or impossible to teach at home. With these concerns in mind we began to dream of another option: A
high quality, low-cost alternative led by Christian parents designed to enhance the home-school education by providing
various classes for home-school students. After much prayer, Lifeshine was born.

Our Name
We arrived at our name, “Lifeshine,” by considering the scripture, "Let their light shine before men in such a way that they
may see their good works, and glorify our Father who is in heaven." (Matt 5:16). The goal was to join with parents pray
scripture over our children - cultivating young lives who honor God, love God's word, work together as a team, respect peers
and honor and respect parents. Teaching our children how to truly let their lives Shine for our Father in Heaven.

Prayer as our Foundation
We also encourage our moms to pray scripture regularly over the teachers and children of Lifeshine. We require a book called
" Praying the Scripture For your Children." We feel like having mothers praying scripture over leadership, teachers and
children creates unity, acceptance and grace for everyone.

Our Mission
Our desire is for children to experience a variety of opportunities and develop their God-given creative abilities. Our
instructors hold to strong Biblical values and strive to honor Christ in all things. Lifeshine offers instruction to 1st through 7th
grade, adding a new grade each year eventually to high school. The 1st-6th classes are purely enrichment with daily
devotionals, Art, Drama, Music, Science Lab, Recess, and Spanish. The Middle School classes are intended to help alleviate the
pressure of teaching the higher level classes. Each week teachers will have class discussion, introduce new material, and
assign work throughout week. Classes for middle school include Apologia General Science, Art, Logic, IEW writing, and
Spanish. Please see the Elementary and Middle School Class page for more details.

Meeting Facilities
We meet on the NW side of San Antonio near I-10 and Huebner Road.
